Rest Rooms are coming, We Hope! 

     Do to unanticipated events this past December, the Depression Era Christmas Eve Church Service scheduled to be held in the Stittsville Church had to be canceled.  Regretfully, this may also bring to a halt the planned construction of new rest rooms in the spring of 2008.  The plans are drawn, the tanks are in the ground and the footings are dug.  Hopefully, when the weather breaks in the spring construction will begin.  Unfortunately, all future construction is now on hold, primairily because of the high cost of necessary permits from local units of government.  

Stittsville Church  Restoration

Moving Along, BUT

     Great progress was made during the 2007 season in the restoration of the Stittsville Church.  The deck on the east side was completed and the door installed to fill the space vacated by the chimney.  The west side now has two windows as it had in 1882.  The base of the bell tower was finished to the height it was when the building was remodeled in the 1950's. The most pressing project a new steel roof was completed in November.   The church really looks great, but now we are being told that we may have to remove it from the property.
